Vosnick Chooses Continental for 2010
Continental Tire Test
Jennings GP December 27-28, 2009
"I purchased a set of Conti’s from Victor Pena so I could give these tires a beating at Jennings GP last Sunday and Monday. I started Sunday by taking possession of my 08’ Triumph 675. This will be my new race bike this year so I had a set of Conti’s mounted up immediately. I mounted a soft front and soft rear and set the hot pressures at 29 front and 26 rear.
The first session on these tires was incredible as I was lapping in the 1:22 range on a new bike and new tires. I really noticed the incredible side grip of the rear tire as I was full throttle coming out of turn 2 with my knee on the ground. The front was also impressive as it felt great and not once gave me any issues. As the weather got warmer my desire to smoke these tires grew with every passing minute.
After lunch I put my head down to see what these tires were really about. I just felt so comfortable with the conti’s that I threw down some low 18’s with ease. Believe me these tires made my confidence grow with every lap. I finished the day still lapping in the 18’s and still not having any issues with the tires. The soft rear did wear but I put about 50 hard laps and 30 softer laps on it before it was done.
Monday started with mounting a medium rear and still running the soft front. The medium rear felt like soft with exceptional side grip. The front was still rock solid which was great for my confidence. I ending up in the 19’s most of the day but I was getting tired and could physically not push any harder but the tires definitely lasted longer than me.
In total I put on about 170 laps on the soft front, 80 laps on the soft rear and 90 laps on the medium rear which still looks new.
To be honest, this is the best tire I have ridden on in a long time and for the price they make it the tire of choice. I would recommend the Continental tire brand to anyone from track day riders to National caliber racers. These tires impressed me so much I am making Continental my race tire for the 2010 season."
